
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed offensive lineman Brayden Swartout and placed offensive lineman Nicolas Melsop on the suspended list on Tuesday.
Brayden Swartout is six foot seven and weighs 307 pounds. A native of Essexville, Michigan, went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Collegiately, Swartout played four seasons at Central Michigan (2021-24) playing right tackle in 40 games, of which 36 were starts, and 29 consecutive starts for the Chippewas. He made his first career start at the 2021 Sun Bowl.
In 2024, Central Michigan averaged 22.58 points per game, 168.9 rushing yards per game, 163.42 passing yards per game, 332.3 total yards per game, 32 touchdowns, and allowed 26 sacks finishing 4-8 for the season.
Swartout was named a two-time Second Team All-MAC (2023-24), a three-time College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District selection, and played in the Hula Bowl.
