
The Ottawa Redblacks re-signed wide receiver Kalil Pimpleton to a two-year contract extension through the 2027 season on Monday.
Kalil Pimpleton is five foot eight and weighs 175 pounds. The 26-year-old from Muskegon, Michigan, signed with the Ottawa Redblacks on January 23, 2024. In 2024, he made 45 catches for 715 yards, three touchdowns, two carries for seven yards, 10 kick returns for 237 yards, 15 punt returns for 252 yards, and one touchdown in eight games
The Detroit Lions signed Pimpleton as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2022. In 2022, he made nine catches for 69 yards, one kick return for 30 yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in three preseason games. The Lions released him on August 30, 2022.
Next, the New York Giants signed him on September 1, 2022. He spent the season on the practice squad. In 2023, he made four catches for 33 yards, and three carries for 21 yards in three preseason games. The Giants released him on August 29, 2023.
Collegiately, Pimpleton played one season at Virginia Tech in 2017 with one carry for four yards in five games for the Hokies.
Then, he transferred to Central Michigan (2019-21) making 170 catches for 2,131 yards, 12 touchdowns, 39 carries for 299 yards, five touchdowns, completed 7 of 12 passes (58%) for 181 yards, one touchdown, two kick returns for 26 yards, 48 punt returns for 568 yards, two touchdowns, and three tackles (2 solos, 1 assist) in 33 games for the Chippewas. He was named First Team All-MAC and the MAC Special Teams Player of the Year in 2021.
