Porsche Penske continues their dominance at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca

The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship visited WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on Sunday afternoon in the TireRack.com Monterey SportsCar Championship.

The pole sitters for this race were the No. 24 BMW M Team RLL Hybrid of Philipp Eng and Dries Vanthoor in GTP, the No. 81 DragonSpeed Ferrari 296 of Albert Costa and Giacomo Altoè of GTD Pro, and the No. 32 Korthoff Competition Motors Mercedes-AMG of Seth Lucas and Kenton Koch of GTD.

The No. 7 Porsche Penske of Nick Tandy and Felipe Nasr won the first three races this season. This time, it was their teammates in the No. 6 Porsche Penske of Mathieu Jaminet and Matt Campbell. The two teammates were in a battle on the last lap with the No. 24 BMW of Philipp Eng and Dries Vanthoor on the final lap weaving around heavy traffic.

Dries Vanthoor was driving the No. 24 car at the time to pull alongside Nick Tandy, who tried to get by the No. 9 Pfaff Motorsport Lamborghini Huracan of GTD, but Vanthoor made it a three-wide race heading into Turn 11.
