
The Edmonton Elks signed wide receiver Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint and linebacker Darien Butler, while releasing defensive lineman Ali Fayad, and placed defensive lineman Keonte Schad on the retired list on Sunday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint is six foot one and weighs 205 pounds. The 23-year-old from Pompano Beach, Florida, signed with the Washington Commanders as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2024. In 2024, he made seven catches for 77 yards in three preseason games. The Commanders released him on August 27, 2024.
The Philadelphia Eagles signed Rosemy-Jacksaint on August 28, 2024. He spent the majority of the season on the practice squad before the Eagles released him on November 26, 2024.
Collegiately, Rosemy-Jacksaint played four seasons at Georgia (2020-23) making 74 catches for 1,028 yards, seven touchdowns, and six tackles (5 solos, 1 assist) in 47 games for the Bulldogs. During his time at Georgia, the Bulldogs won two CFP National Championships in 2021 and 2022.
Darien Butler is five foot ten and weighs 225 pounds. The 25-year-old from Los Angeles, California, was on the PUP list and did not play in the 2024 preseason. The Raiders released him on August 27, 2024.
The Las Vegas Raiders signed Butler as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2022. In 2022, he made 11 tackles (3 solos, 8 assists) in 15 games. In 2023, he made four tackles (3 solos, 1 assist), and one pass breakup in two preseason games. He missed the 2023 season due to an injury.
Collegiately, Butler played four seasons at Arizona State (2018-21) making 243 tackles (121 solos, 122 assists), 24.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, three interceptions, seven pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and four fumble recoveries in 40 games for the Sun Devils. He was named Second Team All-Pac 12 in 2021.
Ali Fayad is six foot two and weighs 250 pounds. The 25-year-old from Dearborn, Michigan, signed with the Edmonton Elks on February 6, 2025.
The Philadelphia Eagles signed Fayad as an undrafted free agent on May 6, 2022. In 2022, he played in one preseason game recording no stats. The Eagles released him on August 14, 2022.
Next, Fayad signed with the Toronto Argonauts as a free agent on September 2, 2022. In 2022, Fayad made five tackles and one sack in four games helping Toronto win the 109th Grey Cup over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Then, Fayad signed with the Philadelphia Stars on March 4, 2023. Collegiately, Fayad played five seasons at Western Michigan (2017-21) with 164 tackles (98 solos, 66 assists), 56.5 tackles for loss, 33.5 sacks, three pass breakups, 11 forced fumbles, and four fumble recoveries in 55 games for the Broncos.
In his final season, Fayad made 40 tackles, 13 sacks, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 13 games. He was named MAC Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-MAC.
Keonte Schad is six foot two and weighs 284 pounds. The 26-year-old from Madison, Wisconsin, signed with the Edmonton Elks on April 25, 2025.
The Orlando Guardians drafted Schad in the fourth round (25th pick) in Phase 3 of the 2023 XFL Draft. He played for the Orlando Guardians (XFL) in 2023 making two tackles (2 assists) in four games. Next, the New Orleans Breakers signed Schad on March 23, 2023. In 2023, he made 26 tackles (15 solos, 11 assists), nine tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks in ten games.
The Houston Roughnecks drafted Schad in the 2024 UFL Dispersal Draft. In 2024, Schad made 19 tackles (7 solos, 12 assists), one tackle for loss, half a sack, and one forced fumble in 10 games. The Roughnecks released Schad on August 19, 2024. The Michigan Panthers claimed him off waivers on August 20, 2024.

The Michigan Panthers re-signed Schad on August 29, 2024. He attended training camp and was released on March 20, 2025.
Collegiately, Schad played two seasons at Ellsworth Community College (2017-18) with 71 tackles (43 solos, 28 assists), 19.5 tackles for loss, one sack, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 18 games for the Panthers. Next, he transferred to Minnesota (2019-20) with 29 tackles (12 solos, 17 assists) in 17 games for the Golden Gophers.
Then, Schad transferred to Oregon State in 2021 with 46 tackles (14 solos, 32 assists), six tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, two pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 13 games for the Beavers. He was named Phil Steele Fourth Team All-Pac 12 in 2021.
