
The Montreal Alouettes signed punter Joshua Sloan to a two-year contract through the 2027 season on Friday.
Joshua Sloan is six foot two and weighs 189 pounds. A native of Werribee, Australia, Sloan was drafted by the Montreal Alouettes in the first round (7th pick) of the 2025 CFL Global Draft.
Collegiately, Sloan played four seasons at UTEP (2020-23) punting the ball 191 times for 8,029 yards (42.0 AVG), with a long of 66 yards, 12 touchbacks, 69 fair catches, 58 from inside the 20-yard line, 33 from 50-plus yards, three tackles (2 solos, 1 assist), and one forced fumble in 45 games for the Miners. He was named an All-CUSA Honorable Mention in 2022.
Then, Sloan transferred to Memphis in 2024 punting the ball 47 times for 2,043 yards (43.5 AVG), two touchbacks, 25 fair catches, 19 from inside the 20-yard line, five from 50-plus yards, and one tackle (1 assist) in 13 games for the Tigers.
