
The Ottawa Redblacks signed wide receiver Jaelen Gill and offensive lineman Daniel Keys on Wednesday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Jaelen Gill is six foot and weighs 185 pounds. The 25-year-old from Westerville, Ohio, signed with the San Antonio Brahmas on March 13, 2025. He attended training camp and was released on March 20, 2025.
The Los Angeles Chargers signed Gill as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2024. In 2024, he made three catches for 27 yards, five kick returns for 134 yards, and three punt returns for 50 yards in three preseason games. The Chargers released him on August 27, 2024. The Cleveland Browns signed Gill on December 10, 2024, and finished the season on the practice squad.
Collegiately, Gill played two seasons at Ohio State (2018-19) making seven catches for 62 yards, and one touchdown in eight games for the Buckeyes. Next, he transferred to Boston College (2020-22) making 80 catches for 1,092 yards, two touchdowns, 28 kick returns for 572 yards, 19 punt returns for 125 yards, two tackles (2 solos), one tackle for loss, and one forced fumble in 20 games for the Eagles.
Then, he transferred to Fresno State in 2023 making 49 catches for 516 yards, six touchdowns, 10 carries for 24 yards, completing 2 of 3 passes (67%) for 51 yards, two touchdowns, 25 kick returns for 527 yards, and one punt return for 10 yards in 13 games for the Bulldogs.
Daniel Keys is six foot five and weighs 344 pounds. A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Keys transferred to Louisiana Tech in 2024 playing left tackle in 13 games for the Bulldogs. In 2024, Louisiana Tech averaged 20.92 points per game, 110 yards per game, 223.46 passing yards per game, 333.5 total yards per game, 32 touchdowns, and allowed 41 sacks finishing 5-8 for the season.
Collegiately, Keys played four seasons at Stephen F. Austin (2020-23) playing 37 games for the Lumberjacks. In 2023, Stephen F. Austin averaged 29.27 points per game, 142 yards per game, 264 passing yards per game, 406 yards per game, 38 touchdowns, and allowed 15 sacks finishing 3-8 for the season.
