The B.C. Lions signed defensive back Robert Carter Jr. and placed wide receiver Brayden Lenius on the retired list on Wednesday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Robert Carter Jr. is five foot ten and weighs 175 pounds. A native of Danville, Virginia, transferred to Robert Morris University (2023-24) making 42 tackles (30 solos, 12 assists), five tackles for loss, one sack, three interceptions for 81 yards, one touchdown, 11 pass breakups, one blocked kick, two catches for 12 yards, 10 kick returns for 295 yards, and one touchdown in six games for the Colonials.

Collegiately, Carter Jr. played two seasons at the University of Virginia College at Wise (2021-22) making 74 tackles (52 solos, 22 assists), 5.5 tackles for loss, one sack, seven interceptions for 75 yards, one touchdown, 17 pass breakups, one fumble recovery, 31 kick returns for 660 yards, one touchdown, and 16 punt returns for 82 yards in 21 games for the Cavilers. He was named an All-American Honorable Mention by Don Hansen in 2022.

Brayden Lenius is six foot five and weighs 220 pounds. The 28-year-old from Regina, Saskatchewan, signed with the B.C. Lions on December 14, 2024.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders drafted Lenius in the second round (15th pick) of the 2019 CFL Draft. In 2022, Lenius made 37 catches for 471 yards and four touchdowns in 14 games. After the season, the Roughriders released Lenius, and he later signed with the Atlanta Falcons. Lenius was released by the Falcons on July 28, 2022, and he later returned to Saskatchewan.

In 2023, Lenius made two catches for 12 yards in one game against the Toronto Argonauts. He missed the majority of the 2023 season after suffering a lacerated kidney in the second preseason game and a lisfranc injury in Week 8 against the Toronto Argonauts which ended his season. In four seasons, Lenius made 58 catches for 659 yards, five touchdowns, and one kick return for four yards in 35 games.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders re-signed Lenius on November 16, 2023. He attended training camp but did not play in the preseason. The Roughriders released him on June 1, 2024.

Collegiately, Lenius played four seasons at Washington (2014-17) making 42 catches for 452 yards and three touchdowns in 40 games for the Huskies. Then, Lenius transferred to New Mexico in 2018 with six catches for 39 yards, one touchdown, and three kick returns for 18 yards in 11 games for the Lobos.
