
The San Antonio Brahmas signed defensive end Isaiah Buggs on Thursday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Isaiah Buggs is six foot three and weighs 335 pounds. The 28-year-old from Ruston, Louisiana, was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the sixth round (192nd pick) of the 2019 NFL Draft. He also spent time with the Las Vegas Raiders, Detroit Lions, and the Kansas City Chiefs. Buggs made 89 tackles (42 solos, 47 assists), four tackles for loss, two sacks, 12 quarterback hits, four pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 56 games. In 2024, he was on the practice squad when the Chiefs won Super Bowl LVIII.
Collegiately, Buggs played two seasons at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (2015-16) making 134 tackles (97 solos, 37 assists), 18 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, and three pass breakups in 21 games for the Bulldogs. He was named Second Team All-MACJC South Division.
Then, he transferred to Alabama (2017-18) making 102 tackles (44 solos, 58 assists), 17.5 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, three pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 29 games for the Crimson Tide. He is a member of the 2017 CFP National Championship team and was named Second Team All-SEC in 2018.
