
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed wide receiver Tre’Shaun Harrison, defensive linemen Marcel Walker-Burgess and Thomas Gore, and kicker Eric Maximuik. They also released running back Felix Garand-Gauthier, linebacker Nic Cross and placed linebacker Tyler Murray on the retired list on Friday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Tre’Shaun Harrison is five foot eleven and weighs 188 pounds. The 24-year-old from Seattle, Washington, signed with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2023. In 2023, he made three catches for 41 yards in three preseason games.
He spent the season on the practice squad. In 2024, he did not play the preseason due to an ankle injury. The Titans released him on September 3, 2024. The Arlington Renegades signed Harrison on March 13, 2025. He attended training camp and was released on March 20, 2025.
Collegiately, Harrison played two seasons at Florida State (2018-19) making 37 catches for 355 yards, three touchdowns, six carries for 33 yards, nine kick returns for 174 yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in 24 games for the Seminoles.
Then, he transferred to Oregon State (2020-22) making 90 catches for 1,147 yards, eight touchdowns, seven carries for 21 yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in 27 games for the Beavers. He was named Fourth Team All-Pac 12 by Phil Steele and an All-Pac 12 Honorable Mention in 2022 after making 52 catches for 604 yards, four touchdowns, and one carry for -2 yards in 12 games.
Marcel Walker-Burgess is six foot two and weighs 252 pounds. A native of Piscataway, New Jersey, Walker-Burgess transferred to Ohio in 2024 making 56 tackles (33 solos, 23 assists), 7.5 tackles for loss, six sacks, one interception for one yard, three pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in 14 games for the Bobcats.
Collegiately, Walker-Burgess played one season at Southern Connecticut State University in 2021 making 17 tackles (9 solos, 8 assists), four tackles for loss, two sacks, one interception, and one pass breakup in 10 games for the Owls.
Next, he transferred to Nevada (2022-23) making 70 tackles (43 solos, 27 assists), 11.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, and one pass breakup in 22 games for the Wolfpack.
Thomas Gore is six foot and weighs 290 pounds. A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Gore transferred to Georgia Tech in 2024 making 14 tackles (8 solos, 6 assists), four tackles for loss, and half a sack in 13 games for the Yellow Jackets.
Collegiately, Gore played four seasons at Georgia State (2019-22) making 93 tackles (49 solos, 43 assists), 22 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, and two forced fumbles in 38 games for the Panthers. He was named an All-Sun Belt Conference Honorable Mention in 2021.
Next, he transferred to Miami (FL) in 2023 making eight tackles (5 solos, 3 assists), four tackles for loss, two sacks, and two forced fumbles in 12 games for the Hurricanes.
Eric Maximuik is six foot one and weighs 210 pounds. The 25-year-old from Regina, Saskatchewan, made 12 of 15 field goals (80%) with a long of 56 yards, 11 extra points, punting the ball 55 times for 2,297 yards (41.8 AVG), with a long of 62 yards, seven from inside the 20-yard line, and one touchback in eight games for the Concordia Stingers in 2024.
Maximuik played for the Regina Thunder (CJFL) from 2017 to 2022 making 76 of 120 field goals (63%), made 140 of 143 extra points, 28 single points, and punting the ball 260 times for 9,574 yards (36.8 AVG) in 41 games.
Maximuik transferred to Concordia University in 2023 making 12 of 16 field goals (75%), with a long of 42 yards, making 22 extra points, punting the ball 47 times for 2,084 yards (44.3 AVG), with a long of 63 yards, and 12 from inside the 20-yard line.
Felix Garand-Gauthier is six foot one and weighs 225 pounds. The 28-year-old from Mirabel, Quebec, re-signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on January 22, 2024. In 2024, he made one catch for two yards, one tackle, and 10 tackles on special teams in 13 games.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats drafted Garand-Gauthier in the fifth round (37th pick) of the 2021 CFL Draft. In four seasons, Garand-Gauthier had one carry for one yard, 16 catches for 246 yards, three tackles, and 31 tackles on special teams in 59 games for the Ticats.
Collegiately, Garand-Gauthier played two seasons at Laval University (2018-19) with 11 carries for 23 yards, three touchdowns, 12 catches for 152 yards, three touchdowns, and two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist) in 14 games for the Rouge Et Or. He was named U Sports Second Team All-Canadian in 2019. He helped the Rouge Et Or win the Vanier Cup in 2018.
Nic Cross is five foot ten and weighs 210 pounds. The 25-year-old from Regina, Saskatchewan, re-signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on February 12, 2024. Cross did not play in 2024 due to an injury. In 2023, he made 14 tackles on special teams and one forced fumble in 17 games for the Ticats in 2023.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats drafted Cross in the first round (9th pick) of the 2021 CFL Draft. In three seasons, Cross made two tackles, 38 tackles on special teams, and one forced fumble in 34 games.
Collegiately, Cross played one season at the University of Regina in 2017 with 63 tackles (36 solos, 27 assists), 3.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, four pass breakups, and one kick return for 13 yards in nine games for the Rams.
Next, he played for the Okanagan Sun (CJFL) in 2018 making ten tackles (8 solos, 2 assists), two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, one touchdown, and one pass breakup in five games.
Then, he went to the University of British Columbia in 2019 with 74 tackles (57 solos, 17 assists), five tackles for loss, one sack, one interception for 17 yards, one touchdown, and three pass breakups in eight games for the Thunderbirds. He was named U Sports First Team All-Canadian.
Tyler Murray is six foot one and weighs 227 pounds. The 26-year-old from Jacksonville, Florida, signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on January 25, 2025.
The Cincinnati Bengals signed Murray as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2023. In 2023, he made 10 tackles (7 solos, 3 assists) in three preseason games. The Bengals released him on September 5, 2023.
Next, Murray signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers on November 15, 2023. In 2024, he did not play in the preseason due to an undisclosed injury. The Steelers released him on August 12, 2024.
Collegiately, Murray played two seasons at Troy (2017-18) making 64 tackles (37 solos, 27 assists), eight tackles for loss, three sacks, four interceptions for 57 yards, nine pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries in 26 games for the Trojans. He was named Third Team All-Sun Belt in 2018.
Next, he transferred to Charlotte (2020-21) making 128 tackles (65 solos, 63 assists), 7.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, two interceptions for 45 yards, three pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 18 games for the 49ers. He was named a two-time All-Conference USA Honorable Mention.
Then, Murray transferred to Memphis in 2022 making 57 tackles (29 solos, 28 assists), four tackles for loss, two interceptions, and four pass breakups in 12 games for the Tigers. In the 2022 SERVPRO First Responder Bowl against Utah State, Murray made seven tackles (4 solos, 3 assists), and one tackle for loss helping the Tigers beat the Aggies 38-10.
