
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed offensive lineman Christophe Atkinson and defensive lineman Ryan Johnson Jr. on Tuesday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Christophe Atkinson is six foot four and weighs 308 pounds. The 24-year-old from Leesburg, Virginia, went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Collegiately, Atkinson played five seasons at Ohio (2019-24) playing 48 games for the Bobcats. In 2024, Ohio averaged 29.29 points per game, 213.7 rushing yards per game, 192.43 passing yards per game, 406.1 total yards per game, 53 touchdowns, and allowed 27 sacks finishing 11-3 for the season on their way to winning the 2024 StaffDNA Cure Bowl game over Jacksonville State. In 2022, he helped Ohio win the Barstool Sports Arizona Bowl. He was named a three-time Academic All-MAC.
Ryan Johnson Jr. is six foot three and weighs 255 pounds. A native of Starkville, Mississippi, went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Collegiately, Johnson Jr. played Iowa Central Community College in the 2020-21 season making 10 tackles (6 solos, 4 assists), one tackle for loss, and 2.5 sacks in six games for the Tritons. Next, he transferred to Akron (2021-23) making 44 tackles (22 solos, 22 assists), 4.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, and one pass breakup in 28 games for the Zips.
Then, he transferred to Southern Mississippi in 2024 making 23 tackles (12 solos, 11 assists), four tackles for loss, and three sacks in 12 games for the Golden Eagles.
