Otto Kemps hits two home runs leading Lehigh Valley to rout Rochester

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (20-8) visited Innovative Field on Tuesday night to begin a six-game road trip against the Rochester Americans (6-21). Mick Abel (2-2, 3.18 ERA) was on the mound for Lehigh Valley against Cade Cavalli (1-0, 0.00 ERA) of Rochester.

Lehigh Valley third baseman Otto Kemp went 3 for 5 hitting two home runs, a walk, and six RBIs, while second baseman Rafael Lantigua went 3 for 5 with a triple, and four RBIs leading the IronPigs to a 19-1 win over Rochester. The rain came in the bottom of the eighth inning that ended the game.

Lehigh Valley left fielder Óscar Mercado went 2 for 5 with two home runs, a stolen base, and four RBIs. Lehigh Valley catcher Josh Breaux went 1 for 1 with a two-run home run, first baseman Christian Arroyo went 1 for 5 with a home run and one RBI, and shortstop Rodolfo Castro went 2 for 4 with a single, a walk, and one RBI.

Lehigh Valley starter Mick Abel earned his third win of the season pitching six innings, allowing four hits, one run, two walks, and six strikeouts throwing 81 pitches, of which 52 were strikes. The loss went to Rochester starter Cade Cavalli.
