
The Calgary Stampeders selected punter Fraser Masin in the first round (1st pick), and punter Mark Vassett in the second round (10th pick) of the 2025 CFL Global Draft on Tuesday.
Fraser Masin is six foot four and weighs 230 pounds. The 23-year-old from Brisbane, Australia, punted the ball 36 times for 1,676 yards (46.6 AVG), with a long of 65 yards, one touchback, 13 fair catches, 16 from inside the 20-yard line, and 14 from 50-plus yards in 12 games for the Ole Miss Rebels. He was a semifinalist for the Ray Guy Award and named Fourth Team All-SEC by Phil Steele.
Collegiately, Masin played three seasons at Ole Miss (2022-24) punting the ball 125 times for 5,441 yards (43.5 AVG), with a long of 65 yards, four touchbacks, 40 fair catches, 41 from inside the 20-yard line, 26 from 50-plus yards, one carry for 24 yards, and three tackles (2 solos, 1 assist) in 37 games for the Rebels.
Masin graduated from St. Joseph’s Nudgee College in Brisbane, Australia in 2018. He was selected to the Australian rules football state team in 2017 and 2016, and a member of the Brisbane Lions Academy in 2018. Besides football, Masin played volleyball and basketball.
Mark Vassett is six foot four and weighs 225 pounds. A native of Melbourne, Australia, Vassett punted the ball 42 times for 1,804 yards (43.4 AVG), with a long of 60 yards, two touchbacks, 10 fair catches, 17 from inside the 20-yard line, and 12 from 50-plus yards in 10 games for the Colorado Buffaloes.
Collegiately, Vassett played two seasons at Louisville (2021-22) punting the ball 100 times for 4,330 yards (43.3 AVG), with a long of 73 yards, six touchbacks, 33 fair catches, 36 from inside the 20-yard line, and 16 from 50-plus yards in 26 games for the Cardinals. He was an All-ACC Honorable Mention in 2022.
Then, he transferred to Colorado (2023-24) punting the ball 107 times for 4,708 yards (44 AVG), with a long of 60 yards, five touchbacks, 24 fair catches, 39 from inside the 20-yard line, 28 from 50-plus yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in 22 games for the Buffaloes.
