The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed defensive lineman Marquise Copeland and defensive back Gaddiel Kazadi on Monday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Marquise Copeland is six foot two and weighs 287 pounds. The 27-year-old from Cleveland, Ohio, signed with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent on April 29, 2019. He played four seasons in Los Angeles making 43 tackles (22 solos, 21 assists), three tackles for loss, and one sack in 26 games.
Collegiately, Copeland played four seasons at Cincinnati (2015-18) making 187 tackles (79 solos, 108 assists), 21 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, four pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in 47 games for the Bearcats. He was an All-AAC Honorable Mention in 2017 and Second Team All-ACC in 2018.
Gadiel Kazadi is six foot one and weighs 190 pounds. The 23-year-old from London, Ontario, made 19 tackles (14 solos, 5 assists), three interceptions for 31 yards, three pass breakups, one blocked kick, and one fumble recovery in seven games for the St. Clair Saints in 2024.
Kazadi played for the London Beefeaters (CJFL) in 2021 making six tackles in four games. In 2023, he split his time with the Okanagan Sun and the St. Clair Saints making 20 tackles (13 solos, 7 assists), one tackle for loss, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and one touchdown in seven games.
