The D.C. Defenders re-signed punter Paxton Brooks on Thursday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Paxton Brooks is six foot six and weighs 199 pounds. The 24-year-old from Lexington, South Carolina, signed with the D.C. Defenders on October 18, 2023.
In 2024, Brooks punted the ball 32 times for 1,395 yards (43.6 AVG), with a long of 56 yards, four touchbacks, eight punts from inside the 20-yard line, 44 kickoffs for 2,969 yards (67.5 AVG), with a long of 80 yards, and four touchbacks in 10 games finishing fifth in the league in punting yards.
Collegiately, Brooks played five seasons at Tennessee (2018-22) punting the ball 163 times for 6,900 yards (42.3 AVG), with a long of 64 yards, 10 touchbacks, 68 fair catches, 58 punts from inside the 20-yard line, 32 from 50-plus yards, completed 2 of 3 passes (67%) for 33 yards, 258 kickoffs for 15,604 yards (60.5 AVG), 126 touchbacks, and three tackles (3 solo) in 61 games for the Volunteers. He was named First Team All-American by CoSIDA in 2021.
