Winnipeg Blue Bombers transfers defensive lineman Nate Givhan to the retired list

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have transferred defensive lineman Nate Givhan to the retired list on Wednesday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Nate Givhan is six foot two and weighs 239 pounds. The 25-year-old from Montgomery, Alabama, was on the Blue Bombers practice squad in 2023. He was released by Winnipeg on September 28, 2023, and later re-signed with Winnipeg on November 28, 2023.

Before Winnipeg, Givhan played his final season at Toledo, Givhan had 27 tackles (12 solo, 15 assists), 6.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, and one forced fumble in 11 games for the Rockets in 2022.

In addition, he had two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist), one tackle for loss, one quarterback hit, and one sack in the RoofClaim.com Boca Raton Bowl as the Rockets defeated the Liberty Flames 21-19 and was named defensive MVP.

Givhan played five seasons at Toledo (2018-22) with 97 tackles (48 solo, 49 assists), 16.5 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, one interception, two pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 47 games for the Rockets.
