The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed former Montreal Alouettes defensive lineman Lwal Uguak on Tuesday.

Lwal Uguak is six foot five and weighs 271 pounds. The 23-year-old from Edmonton, Alberta, attended the New York Jets and Atlanta Falcons rookie minicamps in 2023. He also worked out for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2023. The Alouettes drafted Uguak in the first round (7th pick) in the 2023 CFL Draft. The Alouettes signed Uguak on May 16, 2023.

Collegiately, Uguak played three seasons at the University of Connecticut (2018-19, 2021) with 69 tackles (31 solo, 38 assists), nine tackles for loss, four sacks, four pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 34 games for the Huskies. Then, he transferred to TCU in 2022 with nine tackles (4 solo, 5 assists), half a tackle for loss, and one fumble recovery in 14 games for the Horned Frogs.
