The Calgary Stampeders signed former Calgary defensive back Jacob Biggs, McGill offensive lineman Alexandre Marcoux, UBC fullback Lucas Robertson, McMaster defensive lineman Ryan Leder, and Ottawa kicker Campbell Fair. In addition, the Stampeders released wide receiver Trivel Pinto.
Jacob Biggs is six foot and weighs 175 pounds. The 24-year-old from Calgary, Alberta, made 28 tackles (22 solo, 12 assists) and five pass breakups in six games for the Dinos.
Biggs played four seasons at the University of Calgary (2018-19, 2021-22) with 98 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, one sack, three interceptions for 44 yards, one touchdown, 25 pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 32 games.
Alexandre Marcoux is six foot two and weighs 295 pounds. The 24-year-old from Levis, Quebec, played 28 games in four seasons at McGill University (2018-19, 2021-22) at left guard for the Redbirds. The Stampeders drafted Marcoux in the fourth round (33rd pick) of the 2023 CFL Draft. In 2022, the Redbirds averaged 254.38 yards passing, 146.1 yards per game, and 368.3 average yards per game.
Lucas Robertson is six foot four and weighs 235 pounds. The 23-year-old from Edmonton, Alberta, caught nine passes for 85 yards, and one touchdown in eight games for the Thunderbirds in 2022. The Stampeders drafted Robertson in the eighth round (69th pick) of the 2023 CFL Draft.
Robertson played three seasons at the University of British Columbia (2019, 2021-22) with 26 catches for 204 yards, and one touchdown in 22 games.
Ryan Leder is six foot two and weighs 235 pounds. The 23-year-old from Hamilton, Ontario, made 28 tackles (20 solo, 8 assists), four tackles for loss, one sack, one pass breakup, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in nine games for the Marauders.
Leder played four seasons at McMaster University (2018-19, 2021-22) with 86 tackles (46 solo, 40 assists), 13 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, three pass breakups, four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and one blocked kick in 31 games.
Campbell Fair is six foot one and weighs 180 pounds. The 23-year-old from Carrying Place, Ontario, was drafted by the Stampeders in the sixth round (51st pick) in the 2023 CFL Draft.
In his senior season, Fair made 19 of 26 field goals (73%) with a long of 55 yards, converted a perfect 24 extra points (81 points), 47 punts for 1,916 yards with a long of 68 yards, and nine punts from inside the 20-yard line in eight games for the Gee-Gees. He was named OUA Second Team All-Star and the Chris Evraire Award for Outstanding Special Teams Player in 2022.
Campbell Fair played four seasons at the University of Ottawa (2018-19, 2021-22) converting 48 of 68 field goals (71%) with a long of 55 yards, making 69 of 71 extra points (213 points), 98 punts for 3,693 yards with a long of 63 yards, and 14 punts from inside the 20-yard line.
Trivel Pinto is five foot eleven and weighs 190 pounds. The 27-year-old from Toronto, Ontario, was drafted by the Stampeders in the second round (12th pick) in the 2020 CFL Draft. However, he retired in order to focus on fighting a sexual assault charge leveled against him in 2021 and never played a game for Calgary.
Collegiately, Pinto played four seasons at the University of British Columbia (2015-18) with 234 catches for 3,224 yards, 30 touchdowns, eight carries for 66 yards, 62 kick returns for 1,637 yards, one touchdown, and 54 punt returns for 565 yards.
On defense, Pinto made 23 tackles (19 solo, 4 assists), two interceptions for 20 yards, four pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 41 games for the Thunderbirds.
