Hamilton Tiger-Cats signs former Stars WR Brennan Eagles

Brennan Eagles scores a touchdown for the Texas Longhorns

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed former Philadelphia Stars wide receiver Brennan Eagles on Thursday. The 24-year-old from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was drafted by the Stars in the 15th round (120th pick) in the 2022 USFL Draft. He spent the season on the Stars practice squad and did not record any stats.

Before Philadelphia, Eagles signed with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2021. He played two preseason games with one catch for 25 yards. Shortly after being released by the Cowboys, Eagles had a tryout for the Green Bay Packers.

Collegiately, Eagles played three seasons at the University of Texas (2018-20) with 61 catches for 1,026 yards and 11 touchdowns in 32 games for the Longhorns.

In his final season, Eagles made 28 catches for 469 yards, and five touchdowns in nine games in 2020. He earned an honorable mention All-Big 12 as a wide receiver in 2020 and a Preseason All-Big 12 Second Team selection by Athlon Sports in 2020.
