Ottawa Redblacks signs DB Jake Springer and OL Osaro Eromosele

The Ottawa Redblacks signed former Ole Miss defensive back Jake Springer and former New Haven offensive lineman Osaro Eromosele on Thursday.

Jake Springer, a 25-year-old from Kansas City, Missouri, attended rookie mini-camp with the Indianapolis Colts in 2022. Collegiately, Spring played three seasons at Navy (2017-19) with 106 tackles, eight sacks, two interceptions, six pass breakups, three forced fumbles, five kick returns for 78 yards, and 13 punt returns for 91 yards in 30 games for the Midshipmen.

In his final season at Navy in 2019. He made 69 tackles, eight sacks, two pass breakups, and three forced fumbles in 13 games. He was named Second-Team All-ACC honors.

Then, Springer transferred to Ole Miss in 2021 with 58 tackles, one sack, four pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in nine games for the Rebels.

Osaro Eromosele, a 25-year-old from Hillside, New Jersey, played for the Tucson Sugar Skulls in 2021. The Sugar Skulls went 6-8 that season scoring 558 games, 1,080 rushing yards, 38 touchdowns, 1,807 passing yards, and 35 touchdowns.

Collegiately, Eromosele played two seasons at South Connecticut University (2015-16) playing 20 games at left tackle for the Owls. Then, Eromosele transferred to New Haven (2018-19) playing 23 games at left tackle for the Chargers. He was named Northeast-10 All-Conference Second team in 2018, and Northeast-10 All-Conference First Team in 2019.

In 2018, the offensive line helped the offense contributing to 4,827 total yards on offense, the most in the NE10. In 2019, the offensive line helped the Chargers lead to finish fourth in the NE10 in total offense (378.1 YPG) and third in the conference in the ground game, averaging 188.1 yards per game.
