On Sunday afternoon at Legion Field, the Tampa Bay Bandits (4-4) kept their playoff hopes alive with a 13-3 win over the Houston Gamblers (1-7)
Bandit’s quarterback Jordan Ta’amu went 12/21 for 98 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and four carries for 35-yards while running back Juwan Washington had 20 carries for 60 yards. Wide receiver Derrick Dillon had two catches for nine yards and one touchdown, and the defense allowed 244 yards, 66 tackles, four sacks, one interception, and four pass breakups. Kicker Tyler Rausa made 2/3 field goals.
Gamblers’ quarterback Kenji Bahar went 19/34 for 159 yards, one interception, and six carries for 49 yards, while wide receiver Teo Redding had five catches for 44 yards. The defense allowed 214 yards, 68 tackles, four sacks, one interception, and two pass breakups. Kicker Nick Vogel scored the Gamblers’ only points in the game with a 44-yard field goal.
