On Wednesday, the Saskatchewan Roughriders signed defensive back Brian Cole to a one-year contract.

Brian Cole (24-years-old) spent two seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, Miami Dolphins, and Carolina Panthers practice squad. The Vikings drafted Cole in the seventh round (249th pick) in the 2020 NFL Draft out of Mississippi State.

In his freshman year, Cole was a wide receiver at Michigan, playing three games. He then transferred to East Mississippi Community College and switched to defensive back. He made 54 tackles, three forced fumbles, three blocked kicks, one sack, and one fumble returned for a touchdown. In his junior year, he transferred to Mississippi State.

Brian Cole played 17 games in two seasons (2018-19) for the Bulldogs with 78 tackles, three sacks, two interceptions, four pass blocks, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries.
