BC Lions lock up WR Jevon Cottoy for two more years

On Wednesday, the BC Lions re-signed wide receiver Jevon Cottoy to a new two-year contract extension through the 2023 season.

Jevon Cottoy (25-years-old) played 14 games in 2021 with 39 catches for 519-yards and three touchdowns. This will be Cottoy’s third season with the Lions. In 2020, Cottoy had tryouts for the Las Vegas Raiders and San Francisco 49ers.

In his first season with the Lions in 2019, Cottoy played 16 games with 38 catches for 386-yards and one touchdown.

Before joining the Lions, Cottoy played eight games in Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) for the Calgary Colts with 34 catches for 686 yards and seven touchdowns. In 2014, Cottoy was named Prairie Football Conference’s Rookie of the Year.

In 2018, Cottoy played for the Langley Rams of the British Columbia Football Conference (BCFC) with 50 catches for 1,013 yards, 13 touchdowns, two carries for 12 yards, and one touchdown, leading the Rams to play in the Canadian Bowl against Saskatoon.
