B.C. Lions re-sign LS Tanner Doll and DB Hakeem Johnson

The B.C. Lions re-signed long snapper Tanner Doll and defensive back Hakeem Johnson to contract extensions on Friday. Both players were scheduled to become free agents on February 8th.

Tanner Doll played 14 games with the Lions this year. The Ottawa Redblacks drafted him in the fourth round of the 2015 CFL Draft.

The six-year veteran has played 58 games with the Ottawa Redblacks (2016-17), Hamilton Tiger-Cats (2018), and B.C. Lions (2019, 2021). He played U Sports at the University of Calgary, recording 48 tackles in 10 games. In the 2013 Vanier Cup, Doll made 12.5 tackles and one pass breakup.

This year, Hakeem Johnson played in 14 games with 12 tackles, four special teams tackles, and one interception. The third-year pro was the Lions’ fourth-round pick in the 2019 CFL Draft. In 22 career games, Johnson has 15 tackles, five special teams tackles, and one interception.
